Boom Supersonic, an exciting investment opportunity on the MarketX Ventures platform, today made waves at the Paris Air Show with a series of significant announcements. These developments underscore Boom's relentless pursuit of revolutionizing air travel through speed, safety, and sustainability.
Boom has forged structural supplier agreements with Aernnova for Overture’s wings, Leonardo for the fuselage and wing box, and Aciturri for the empennage. These industry leaders join an impressive roster of global suppliers, including Safran Landing Systems, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Flight Safety International, FTT, GE Additive, and StandardAero.
The Paris Air Show was also the stage for Boom to unveil Overture’s systems configuration. This detailed schematic offers a glimpse into the inner workings of Overture, showcasing key systems such as avionics, flight controls, hydraulics, fuel systems, and landing gear — all meticulously designed for peak performance, efficiency, and safety.
Cathryn Chen, CEO of MarketX Ventures, shared her excitement at the news:
'The advancements Boom Supersonic has announced at the Paris Air Show are truly remarkable. They are not only pushing the boundaries of aviation technology but also demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability. As an investment opportunity on our platform, Boom continues to impress us with their innovation and dedication. We are thrilled to be part of their journey towards revolutionizing air travel.'
Boom's commitment to sustainability was further highlighted with the reveal of the engine architecture for Symphony, Overture’s propulsion system designed for 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Symphony's unique design is tailored for sustainable supersonic flight, promising 25% more time on wing and a 10% reduction in operating costs for airline customers.
The partnership with FTT is set to expand, with plans to develop the initial production units for ground test, flight test, and certification. Boom has chosen Jupiter, Florida, as the base for this initial production.
In a thrilling development, Boom will collaborate with Northrop Grumman on a NASA contract. The project, titled “High-Speed Endo-atmospheric Commercial Vehicle Conceptual Design Study and Technology Roadmaps Development,” aims to identify the necessary technologies for advancing commercial supersonic flight efficiency.
Construction is in full swing at the Overture Superfactory at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. The campus is being built in sections, with the initial focus on the final assembly line.
These exciting developments in the Overture program are a testament to Boom's vision of making the world dramatically more accessible through supersonic speeds and sustainable practices.
