Blake Scholl is the Founder and CEO of Boom Supersonic, a Colorado-based aerospace startup focused on creating world-changing opportunities in the aviation sector. With nearly a decade at the helm, Blake has positioned Boom Supersonic as a leader in the aerospace industry, attracting top-tier engineering talent to work on groundbreaking projects.
Prior to Boom, Blake served as Senior Director at Groupon, where he led SmartDeals, Relevance, and Personalization for nine months. His experience at Groupon also includes a year and a half as Senior Director of Product Management for Breadcrumb Pro, an iPad- and cloud-based point-of-sale system used by prestigious venues across the United States.
Blake's entrepreneurial journey began with Kima Labs, a company he co-founded and led for over two years. Kima Labs specialized in mobile e-commerce applications and was eventually acquired by Groupon in 2012. Before Kima, Blake was the first employee and Director of Product Development at Pelago, Inc., a company that was later acquired by Groupon. At Pelago, he contributed to product, engineering, and data operations.
Blake's initial foray into the tech world was at Amazon, where he spent nearly five years in various roles. He was responsible for Amazon's first Google AdWords buy and led the team behind Amazon's large-scale search advertising, which now drives over $1 billion in annual sales. He also worked on retail personalization, contributing to algorithmic optimizations and back-end re-architecture.
In the early stages of his career, Blake gained experience as a Software Development Engineer at Inktomi and RealNetworks, working on projects that significantly improved system performance.
Blake holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, where he graduated with University Honors. He is also a recipient of the Andrew Carnegie Merit Scholarship.
